A couple of men wanted for allegedly beating a homeless man, now face four years in prison in a Texas jail, have been found guilty of second-degree cruelty to a child.
According to prosecutors, Drexel University student David Brown and two friends were visiting his home in the 7100 block of South Cottage Street when he got angry when they started to beat the 15-year-old boy in the face with a chain saw.
A video from a neighbor who saw the incident has reportedly been shared on YouTube by Brown.
He pleaded not guilty in February to felony first degree cruelty to a child. A judge, in his courtroom in the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals for the Eastern District, ruled he had committed a misdemeanor. But prosecutors said he had never shown any prior signs of remorse for the beating or remorse for their conduct at the scene of Brown’s beating and that the three adults had been trying to make amends.
